Phyllis K. Slesinger is Senior Vice President & General Counsel, Human Resources and Legal Affairs
of the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), where she is responsible for the association's internal legal affairs and human resources.
Phyllis has been with MBA since 1992, starting out in MBA's government affairs group. She was actively involved in the founding of MERS Inc. ®, an industry-owned electronic registry for mortgage rights, managed several litigation coordination projects, staffed GSE policy committees, and helped restructure the association's governance.
Before joining MBA, Phyllis was general counsel of the American Land Title Association (ALTA). Earlier, she served as a senior counsel at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Phyllis is a member of the DC Bar, the American Bar Association, and the Association of Corporate Counsel. She received both her Bachelor of Arts degree (magna cum laude) and law degree from the University at Buffalo. She is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
