The Mortgage Action Alliance (MAA) is governed by a nine member Steering Committee. It is responsible for assisting in the formulation, implementation and execution of the Alliance's grassroots activities in furtherance of MBA's advocacy agenda. The Steering Committee officially meets twice a year during MBA's Annual Convention and the National Policy Conference. The Committee also meets periodically by conference call, and members are occasionally asked to help shape MBA's advocacy agenda.

The Steering Committee consists of a Chairman, two Vice-Chairman, one representative each from MBA's Boards of Governors (the Residential Board of Governors and the Commercial Multifamily Board of Governors) and one representative from MBA's State and Local Advisory Council. Finally, the Steering Committee has three at-large members.

As a member of the Alliance, you are eligible to serve as an at-large member of the MAA Steering Committee. You are also eligible to vote annually in the election for at-large members. If you are interested in participating as an at-large member or in nominating a MAA member to serve, please contact William Kooper, MBA Associate Vice President, Government Affairs at (202) 557-2737 or wkooper@mortgagebankers.org. The election of at-large members takes place once a year, but nominations are accepted at all times.

No dues are required to participate in MAA or on the MAA Steering Committee.
