Gerald A. Aust Vice President Member Relations

Gerald A. (Jerry) Aust is Vice President of Member Relations for the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA). He is responsible for the association's membership and member outreach initiatives as well as MBA's relationships with state and local mortgage banking associations across the country.

Aust joined MBA in September 1999. Previously, he was vice president and sales manager for Chicago Title Insurance Corporation, overseeing the marketing of centralized vendor support products and strategic business arrangements to mortgage lenders nationally. Aust also was the vice president of sales and marketing at LandAmerica Corporation, where he was responsible for strategic planning and national marketing.

Aust has been involved in the financial services industry for 34 years, including tenure as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Financial Corporation, and vice president of the retail division of the former Crestar Bank, now SunTrust Banks, Inc.

Aust received a bachelor's degree in general business from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, Va., and is an honors graduate of the Virginia School of Banking at the University of Virginia. He also holds the Advanced Certificate from the American Bankers Association (ABA).
