| Josh Denney Associate Vice President Public Policy Government Affairs
| Josh Denney is Associate Vice President of Public Policy at the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), where he manages a team of 10 professionals charged with following all residential mortgage public policy issues, developing the Association's positions on those issues and representing the interests of the MBA's member companies before federal agencies and executive branch officials. Denney also staffs MBA's Residential Board of Governors (RESBOG). Denney previously served as the Association's primary liaison with Republican members of the U.S. Senate.
Prior to joining MBA in 2004, Denney was Staff Director of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee's Subcommittee on International Trade and Finance and Legislative Assistant to U.S. Senator Chuck Hagel (R-Neb.), where he advised the Senator on financial, economic and commerce issues, including banking, housing, transportation, taxes, the federal budget and the postal service. In his time with the Senator, Denney also covered issues pertaining to agriculture, Native Americans, law enforcement, health care and telecommunications. Denney served as the Senator's chief spokesperson.
Denney also managed public affairs campaigns for a variety of government, corporate and nonprofit clients at Powell Tate/Weber Shandwick in Washington.
Denney holds a master's degree in political management from The George Washington University, a bachelor's degree in political science, a bachelor's degree in corporate communication and public affairs from Southern Methodist University and earned his Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) designation in 2007.
