CAP Membership and Benefits

CAP membership is free and conducive to member interests.  Whether you just want to send a letter to your legislators or build close, personal relationships with lawmakers and their staffs, CAP ensures that your voice is heard and the industry is well represented on Capitol Hill. 

Benefits and Services

As a member, you receive these free services and benefits, which aim to keep you educated and informed.

  • Visit MBA's Action Center to obtain talking points and sample letters on MBA's priority issues and current legislation.  The Action Center allows you to quickly communicate with your elected officials via e-mail.
  • The weekly CAP Newsletter.   The Newsletter, sent via e-mail, summarizes MBA's legislative activity.
  • MBA Action Alert e-mails.   These e-mails direct you to contact your legislators through MBA's online letter generating software.  This tool allows you to read over talking points on a specific bill and send electronic letters to lawmakers.
  • Legislative updates. You will receive via e-mail timely updates when MBA testifies before Congress or submits letters to Members of Congress and committees on issues important to you.
  • Invitation to legislator activities and events.   These events are opportunities to express your concerns about legislation or regulations that affect your company and the industry to legislators in either the district or state.
  • Invitations to MBA sponsored events in your local community.
  • Assistance in setting up a legislator tour of your company.  MBA will help arrange the meeting between you, your company employees, and your elected officials.
  • Access to MBA's Congressional Election website.  The website, which is active during election years, allows you to register to vote and see which candidates are running for local, state and federal offices in your state.
  • Access to MBA's MORPAC programs. By joining CAP, you will also have the opportunity to participate in MBA's political action committee, MORPAC. Your involvement in MORPAC, will give you access to MORPAC's donor benefit program as well as attend events with Members of Congress
  • Access MBA's CAP Director, who will assist you in organizing meetings, answering legislative questions and assisting you on other CAP matters.
